Creating ‘Standing Out’ Early Years

Kingsway Community Primary School,
Anita Curtis is a Deputy Head and Foundation Stage Leader with firm excellent classroom practice. She has one of the first accredited certificates in the Spread the Happiness approach, including Dough Disco, Squiggle and Making Maths Magic. Her knowledge and ideas are practical and simple which impact on progress.
Anita’s lovely energy and passion shine through in her sessions making her a ‘standing out’ Early Years teacher and leader.
The evening will include:
Permission To – An inspirational session giving all those working with children permission to be happy therefore impacting on the lives and progress of children
Active Literacy – This session will focus on early mark making and how to generate excitement for literacy, (with practical ideas) in both staff and children; striking a perfect balance between a play based and a formal curriculum, both indoors and out ・ and all on a shoestring!
Making Maths Magic – This is a successful kinaesthetic approach to teaching mathematics, which results in accelerated development of key mathematical knowledge and skills. This course leads practitioners through how to achieve ‘outstanding’ progress in mathematics through the Early Years to Level 3. It will include a session on digit dance.
Squiggle Whilst You Wiggle and Active Literacy – This session will focus on early make making and how to generate excitement for literacy, (with practical ideas) in both staff and children; striking a perfect balance between a play based and a formal curriculum, both indoors and out…. and all on a shoestring!
Cost: £57 plus VAT.
